Cookies
Almost nothing. Here's what.
What Shopabroad sets today
No cookies. We don't set any cookies on your browser. No analytics, no advertising, no fingerprinting. Even our pre-launch “notify me” form is handled server-side, so signing up sets no cookie and loads no third-party script. Server logs on Vercel record standard request metadata (IP, browser, page) for operational reasons - see our privacy page.
Local storage
We use your browser's local storage (not cookies) to remember two things between visits:
- Your home and destination country (so you don't reset the route every visit).
- Your trip list - the products you've bookmarked.
This data stays on your device. We don't transmit it. Clearing your browser's site data wipes it. We treat it as strictly necessary for the bookmark feature you opted into.
What may change
If we activate affiliate networks (Skimlinks, Amazon Associates), those will set their own cookies for attribution - typically a long-lived cookie that records which referrer (us) sent you to the retailer. At that point we'll:
- Add a consent banner before any non-essential cookie is set.
- Update this page with the specific cookies, their purpose, and lifetime.
- Give you a clear way to refuse or revoke consent.
How to clear what's stored
In any modern browser: open settings → privacy → clear site data for shopabroad.app. That removes the local storage entries above. Trip list and saved route both reset.
